Filler

The integrity of our skin changes as we age and this is predominantly due to collagen loss. Collagen is a natural protein that provides structural support. It forms a framework into which new cells can grow, and process the texture, resiliency, and shape of our skin.

Aging is a natural weakening agent of collagen; but so are environmental exposures such as the sun, injuries, as well as lifestyle and hereditary factors.

Collagen creams only work on the skin’s surface to help retain water; whereas injectable products are placed into the skin to replace what has already been lost while assisting in the skins natural hydration to maintain that plump youthful appearance.
We can apply hyaluronic fillers to sculpt the lips , nasolabial folds (smile lines), and marionette lines (frown lines) at this time.

Who should not receive filler?

-Anyone who has had a previous serious reaction to hyaluronic acid (HA) derivatives
-patients with multiple severe allergies
-those that are pregnant or lactating

What to expect?

Herpetic outbreaks(especially with lip filler), even without prior outbreak; antiviral prophylactic therapy is recommended and can be prescribed. Swelling, bruising, redness, and tenderness-all self limiting and usually resolves within a few days. Topical anesthetic is provided prior to injection as well as other supportive pain-relieving techniques
